I'll stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
