'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith resumes contest with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he remembers the thrilling dying seconds of Swansea's remarkable turnaround triumph against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. That match ended with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear following the pitch-side pile-on.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a long-range shot from distance, and the defender quickly converted the loose ball before charging toward the crowd to celebrate, with supporters mobbing the players.

Remarkable Recovery

The victory completed an extraordinary comeback given the team had found themselves down 2-0 midway through the second half. During the delirium, there was some minor mishaps. Galbraith explained, "There was a fan trying to get our attention and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're individuals, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The result secured a upcoming game at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, a club Galbraith ran close at the same stage of the FA Cup with his former club in February. Galbraith had a prime vantage point when his former team took the lead in spectacular fashion, with the attacker's volley from about way out going in via the bar and the City goalkeeper. It feels criminal that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've awarded it to him for attempting the shot from that range," stated Galbraith, who played in the middle before shifting to right defensive wing after Orient changed shape. That meant getting to grips with Jack Grealish, with whom he traded tops, and the player was among the City players who praised the way Orient attacked the game.

Opponent's Class

"Athletically they are outstanding but even the basics and routine actions, they can just execute repeatedly," the midfielder notes. "It appears that they complete every delivery and they are adept at control and take the sting out of a game. You can feel you're doing well and then suddenly they will just deliver a through ball past your midfield without you even seeing. You have to be focused at all times of the game. It demands a tough attitude and attention just to stay in the game."

Swansea Move

The Welsh side were keen on Galbraith in January and secured his signature to secure him in the summer in a significant move. He established himself as a fans' favourite across multiple campaigns at Orient and has rapidly done the same in Wales. At the London club he reunited with the coach, who four years ago gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in professional games on loan at his loan club from Manchester United. Then came a loan at League Two Salford, before he permanently left Manchester United.

Development Path

"I was likely a somewhat inexperienced going into men's football. I think many athletes would say development squad matches is entirely separate. Sometimes it feels like play is circulated without much intensity. There's not many hard challenges. Once you start playing men's games you have to adapt rapidly."

National Team Success

His progress reflects that development for both domestically and internationally, shining for his national side, who could still reach the global tournament next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has started the past five games, including both legs encounters against the German national team. The ex-coach, Galbraith's previous international manager, gave him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he handles the football and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Humble Beginnings

This marks an incredible journey for the kid from the neighborhood in his hometown, just outside the capital, who used to see his father, Stuart, also a central player, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Red Devils Debut

The player's only game for United came in Central Asia in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the Kazakh capital, where they competed on an synthetic surface and the venue ceiling was shut owing to temperatures of -15C. "This represented a extended travel and it was chilly," he recalls, grinning. "The days leading up, myself and quite a few of the young lads practiced as a group, so that assisted our preparation. Just to accompany the senior squad and make an appearance at the end was unbelievable."

Moving On

What was the challenge was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he joined from Linfield aged a teenager? "It was quite easy, because I got to the stage where I knew I wasn't going to make it at the senior squad. I'm very appreciative for the time I spent there but it became apparent where I believed I needed to go my own route, join a smaller club and play men's football. Now I'm slowly progressing again."

New Environment

It is the middle of the day at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has a commitment at the early evening: a driving theory test, another progress toward getting on the road. Prior to relocating to his new neighborhood, the young professional was a frequent passenger in Swansea's so-called fun bus, a team vehicle driven by academy staff, the transport team, which ferries players to and from training and matches.

"I travel with a teammate, the Brazilian, an Ivorian player – Melker Widell used to be in it but has started driving. It's pleasant to socialize with the guys but I'm aiming to be the following person to drive independently and behind the wheel. His teammate is known for his humor; he's frequently playing tricks."

Fan Interactions

While playing for his former club, Galbraith would travel alongside supporters on London's Central line after commuting at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
